Everything just comes to you too easily in the map, which leaves it feeling pretty unsatisfying.Īs to the two special assignments which are supposed to "rework" their levels. There are a lot of clear ideas in the New York map, but the fact that the level's simply so small and cramped means there's no actual space for the writers or designers to develop the premises they set up. Along with the fact that the vault is INCREDIBLY insecure (literally took out their entire security with nothing but a crowbar and a disguise), I didn't actually NEED to deal with either of the optional targets. They basically just do that for you by walking around dozens of blind corners.

The small size of the level combined with the fact that there's really only one character you actually need to assassinate means that you're practically stumbling over opportunities without any real need to do much in the way of exploring, and while the addition of the two non-target characters with relatively large patrols is a nice thought, the fact that they don't travel with any security means that you don't actually need to study them or learn all that much about them to get them isolated. Played through the New York level and it's. Really disappointed with the content added today.
